Douglas County Museum

The Museum Association of Douglas County was formed in 1984 because many historical and decorative arts objects were being destroyed and/or removed from the county, even though a historical society existed at the time. The Mission of the Douglas County Museum is to establish, maintain, and operate a Museum for the general public. In addition, collect, research,  interpret and care for materials and artifacts of cultural and historical interest.  The focus of the Museum shall be on the history of Douglas County and in some cases East Central Illinois.
